“It could have been way dumber” is not the yardstick you want to consistently measure your plans by.

It is impossible to have male and female partners/friends/or even enemies(especially enemies actually…) without a fairly large number of fans imagining them together, this is an example of when the creator suggests relationships in order to keep said fans interested…that said, it’s too bad this is a dream sequence, however that is also really good because from what I have seen, whenever two characters get together this early in the series they end up breaking up tragically at least 90% of the time and OMG KISSING ROMANCE GARBLEGATBLE GRLAAAAAAH ROMANCE!!!….sorry about that I don’t know what went wrong…

My general response to a romance in a story I’m reading is the same as when a friend tells me they have found a new boy/girlfriend. That would be “Cool, cool. Let’s order a pizza…”
Yeah. I’m not much of a shipper. I don’t mind romances though as long as they are not the main focus of the plot.
Whether we are heading the romance direction or not though, I can’t say. This comic has both twisted typical cliches and played them straight.
my expectation is that it will be subverted. We will see though.

“It is impossible to have male and female partners/friends/or even enemies(especially enemies actually…) without a fairly large number of fans imagining them together”
While I once again am generally ok with romance as long as it does not become the main attraction to a series, that is one thing that always bugged me… In media there is rarely such a thing as a meaningful platonic relationship between a male and a female.
Mainly because a lot of people in real life seem to thing such a relationship is impossible though. Nothing terrible, just annoying. -.-

Romance haters chill. It’s an important part of society and humanity as a whole. I don’t mind relationships being integral to the plot of something. I don’t mind relationships being irrelevant to the plot of something. It’s all in the execution. If it’s done well, good. If not, bad. That doesn’t mean it’s bad (or tacky, or anything else) to have characters fall in love. :l

@Well of Three Features
I never said it was bad. Just that it’s not a plotline that typically appeals to me. 🙂
… I also commented on a pet peeve of mine. But I don’t hold any work to a standard developed around such things. It’s more a social annoyance and has no bearin on any individual story. 😛

Yes, of course. I was not stating that the comic was not already plenty interesting enough without. And I agree that shifting it to the main focus always ends up ruining the storyline. However, at the same time, I’m the kind of guy that, at the end of the movie/story/etc., that always says “that was great, bit did those two get together, or what?”
