Just check this page of the comics and it’s totally obvious this is Jack’s parents. You can really see how they would look this way when they were younger.

Considering this is happening twenty-three years prior to the comic, I don’t think that is Miles. Considering the hair is somewhat similar to Jack’s father, the current leader of M.I. looks extremely similar to smoking guy’s partner, and the huge amount of assassin bragging, My guess is this is how Jack’s parents met and worked in M. I. together. We may also get some mysterious info on just what kind of a person Miles was.

Why does everyone think this is Mr. and Mrs. Smith? It strikes me that this is Gavin and Sarah. Points to consider:
1. Dude is smoking. No one in this story has smoked before. Gavin dies of cancer.
2.”No one knows who you are, yet.” sounds totally super-villainesce.
3. I don’t have a third point.
