“Insanely happy” is what see. Despite the page phrase, I doubt this is the last page. At least, I hope not! It would be the most epic cliffhanger ever, but still a cliffhanger.

I’m still not sure any of this is actually doing anything to Gavin. He’s just humoring Jack and leading him along until he dies from complications. Jack’s certainly pushing himself to that point. I think if anything’s going to happen to Gavin, it’ll be in that server room.
That being said, I think that wherever Jack and Gavin are, maybe even the whole ship, is a hacked space, like a pocket universe. Only where Max and what’s-her-name got teleported is real. And the only way to kill Gavin is to destroy that server. And Gavin’s girl is either going to fight them to stop them from killing Gavin or help them.
It’s called hypoxia. His brain is shutting down from the lack of oxygen. The only way to save Jack is going to be to dump Gavin from it and transfer Jack into it.
Ten will get you twenty that Gavin will get back up from that without even a scratch. Given what I’ve seen in recent strips, I’m pretty sure that what we see is merely a digital puppet.
And somehow… I think Jack knows. Or at the very least suspects some h4x0r BS. You know… it’s like with Conan the Barbarian and how he says you can never trust a wizard – nasty tendency to not stay dead and all. π
Seriously, Gavin must be having the time of his (un?)life – I would have voided the entire compartment to space the moment Jack showed up and let reality (Jack’s mortal enemy) handle the rest.
Also, I prefer the other Happy-Jack face better. You know, that utterly psychotically-unhinged grin on his face when he realizes that his fondest wish has just been granted. π
