I’m a little confused as to why Gavin isn’t covering everywhere but himself with spikes or something harder to dodge like that.

  2. Merks

    YESSSSSSS EFFIN BACKFLIP!!!

Time to donate like I promised

  3. grayfoxpianist

    unfRAAH
Truer grunts were never uttered before. And Angel looks cute, ha

  4. Skydron

Wait… didn’t his parents put him through something harder than that? Might have to go back and re-read, but if I’m right Gavin needs to step up his game.

  5. Skydron

Ok, I wasn’t right, but I wasn’t wrong either. Apparently his mother ‘trained’ him, guessing daily. He came home from school and had knives thrown at him. A life time of ‘training’ from his mom and the fights he’s had up until now vs Gavin’s attempts to kill him? Jack’s victory.

  6. gangler

Well damn. That bear hug could complicate things, knowing full well teleporting out of here is Gavin’s trump card.

Still, I have to imagine no real harm’s gonna happen. Gavin lays there taking some punches while the very air saps Jack’s strength and vitality. What’s a few bruises for… whatever Gavin’s goals are? If Jack were ever gonna finish the job this would be one thing, but he’s still operating like he’s warding off the bullies rather than dealing with an international terrorist leader sociopath with Godpowers.

  7. Shawwah?! Man

Before I say anything, I’m Team Cannon okay!
I’m thinking Gavin is really smart, for one thing. He is wearing out Jack, but I’m thinking… Hypothetically, he hacked up his skin. So he probably put “Invincibility” into his code. If it’s like that, Gavin has pain…but no death. This could make it real tough for Jack… Good luck!

    Sequence of awesomeness:

Gavin gets face punched by Jack (+1 Jack)
Gavin tries to smash Jack with spikes FAIL (-1 Gavin)
Gavin tries burning Jack into ashes FAIL (-1 Gavin)
Jack tackles Gavin in a bear hug (+1 Jack)

    Jack: 2
    Gavin: -2

  8. CHT

I don’t think that gavin has invincibility cause he didn’t need it before.

  9. Shawwah?! Man

@CHT Yeah, you’re probably right. But I’m still sticking to it! It could be a fail safe!

P.S. Good night Tasmania! Have a nice sleep!

  10. The Aussie Bloke

Angel going for the stealth approach. Get the bystanders out while Jack keeps Gavin’s attention.

  11. juerujin

The problem is that jack will disr upt any invincibility gavin has. Spikes are solid objects so they will affect him. But I think any mods might be billed?

  12. juerujin

Nulled …. Man I hate auto correct and typing from phones

  13. James

    Eleven Eleven Eleven !!!!!!! ; D

  14. Jorlem

Well, Gavin should have known that the Mashy Spike Plate never works.

  15. CHT

    @juerujin
The spikes are actually hacked up, thus making them vulnerable to jack’s anti-hack. And who doesn’t hate the auto-correct?

  16. CHT

    @Jorlem
Agreed. Gavin should give up. Jack is the main lead and main leads win most of the time.

  17. Huh?

    Um…. I don’t think Angel was wearing anything shaped like that…. I think that’s someone else~

  18. gangler

Pretty sure right now it’s more just an issue of how much it would drain him to dispel all this stuff. Keep in mind he’s casting from hp just to undo what the other guy put together with good old fashioned mp. Guy can’t afford to run around destroying every construct just for the heck of it.

  19. Scidude

    Epicness of epics!!!!
@juerujin yes, antihack should beat invincibility. Unfortunately, Jack’s invincibility is making him uninvincible…
@gangler teleportation isn’t really a trump card, since if Gavin teleports and Jack is in contact with him, they both teleport. Chances are, Gavin will teleport out of the hackstation back to earth, where Jack is once again fine and dandy, issuing out even more facepunchery.

  20. gangler

Well no, that’s the problem. Now that Jack’s in contact I’m assuming Gavin can’t teleport. Which is a big problem for Gavin since that was the ace in the hole.

The fight was stacked because at any moment Gavin could just leave and let Jack wither and die on his own in this space station. So long as Jack has a firm hold on the guy though shit gets a little more complicated. It’s a fun development.

  21. justanotherfan

Because those were his first two attacks, with those he will analyze Jack’s actions. He could also be trying to mislead Jack into thinking dodging his attacks is easy, or he could even just be having fun right now.

  22. Meaty

I may be in a different continent but that wont stop me from reading Jack Cannon! (the AZERTY keyboard might though)

    Jack:2
    Gavin:0

  23. Scidude

    @ gangler
    Bingo. And yes indeed 😀

  24. SovietCommissar

Angel definitely needs to find out, right now, that she has a magically enhanced leg for kicking Gavin’s maybe-nuts into the next epoch.

  25. LostInPhilly89

All I can think of while reading this is The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny.

  26. aqua

still don’t know why gavin doesn’t just let space fight his battle for him.

  27. aqua

@cht “Agreed. Gavin should give up. Jack is the main lead and main leads win most of the time.”

    Neon Genesis Evangelion
    No one has to win

  28. Tsapki

He did say most of the time Aqua, not all the time. But still Gavin giving up for this reason would bring the foruth wall crumbling down so Im with you on this.

And I will admit that it does seem in Gavin’s best interest to just avoid Jack and let the time limit work against him, but I suppose he is really interested in seeing what Jack’s limits are. Let us remember, he did say Jack was tampered with, so this could mean he worries that others like him could pop up and he may want to find weaknesses beyond ‘wait for them to die’

  29. lady

“uff” is really the only evidence we have so far that gavin isn’t just impervious. i think gavin is going to teleport out asap thinking he’s won by trapping jack in a place that is slowly wearing him down- after all, Jack is just too much for Gavin’s as is, even though he’s already been at the station for a while. Its not going to wear him down fast enough for Gavin to take any sort of advantage in the combat. Nice to know that Jack can even stand up to Gavin’s hacks, though.

  30. lady

Oh yeah, I mean to add– Jack’ll get help from Grin at that point- I bet ‘cha. It’ll probably catch Gavin off guard next time they run into each other.

  31. Shawwah?! Man

heehee, I just noticed the eyes jack has on panel 4. LOL!
The drawing style has changed a lot since page 1. It’s almost like Jack went from 14 to 21, huh? He looks more bad-“ash” (censor) now.

  32. Rachel

Hmm…I don’t think he can knock out Gavin, however, he should be aiming for his hands. He needs to get those gloves off or break his hands and now that he’s up close he has opportunity to do either. I sure Gavin will have other surprises, but that will slow him down at least.

  33. Rae

Looove the movement in this page!

  34. lady

there’s a chance angel is about to surprise us.

  35. Eshajori

I think the problem is that Gavin, as genius as he is, he’s not that much of a spur-of-the-moment type guy. He’s a thinker and a planner. This is evidenced by his surprise when Facepuncher showed up. He really expected that having the chiefs daughter put him in complete control.

I think the same thing is happening here. Gavin is very powerful, but he didn’t expect Jack to be there, and for whatever reason he thought Jack couldn’t touch him, he was wrong. He was caught off his guard and he’s still trying to recover. I think he’ll catch a second wind, but Jack got a surprise round, and that advantage will give him a chance.

    FIRSTBLOOD +400g

  36. Eshajori

    Aaaaand ByThatIMeantGranddaughter*
    CURSE ME

  37. Flaming squirrel

Gavin: “I have all the powers of the universe at my fingertips.”
Jack: “Ha ha HA! I still have the one power that you can not overcome!”
Gavin: “And what might that be?”
    Jack: “Plot protection!”
    Gavin: “… crap.”

  38. Nirron

I am thinking that maybe we are overestimateing Gavins abilities.

He is a brillient hacker. The best we have seen. (If not simply the best)
Gavin is definately not useing his powers to his full potential here, But I doubt he is capable of many of the things we imagine him being.
Simply opening up a tube into space sounds easy, but is it truely a viable option in the middle of combat? (I imagine altering an opject in such a way takes a little more effort than simply conjureing one.)

Also, I think we over-estimate jacks Anti-hackness. See… Gavin is not capable of simply killing jack right off (assumeing he wants to) but he can alter the enviornment around him. Thats wye what he is doing seems far more clumsy than one would expect.
Jack is capable of interacting with a hacked object Evidenced by the fact that he can stand and breath in the station. (Though it is not very healthy for him) So simply impaleing him with a hacked spike would definately be a viable option. And given the situation, possibly the only way Gavin has to kill him outright.

  39. cy414

nothing to say this isnt an avatar jack is fighting.

  40. Calli

I’m just gonna sit back and watch whatever ass-kicking that takes place.

Oh, and is it sad that I’m painting Max Facepuncher for art class? I’m doing a piece in Roy Lichtenstein’s style, and he redoes comic characters and panels, so…Facepunching was the first thing on my mind.

  41. Lunar

    @ last pannel

Did she trip while standing still?
