I was just now searching for about this when I found your post. I’m just dropping by to say that I very much enjoyed seeing this post, it’s very well written. Are you going to write more on this? It looks like there is more fodder here for future posts.
In the first panel I actually thought for a sec that those two henchies’s sunglasses were, like, their massively widened eyes! But then I saw the next panel and was all like, oh guess not. but that’ve been a mighty sweet-arse thing…right?
Love Craigs henchmans face in panel one
“Henchman” usually implies that, while maybe not quite as ruthless, experienced or machiavellian as the Big Bad; one is tough enough (not to mention loyal enough) to protect him if he is being threatened with a beat-down by the Hero. (Or will at least keep the Hero from kicking anymore snot out of him.)
These guys seem to be more the “lackey” type. (Useful as “Yes-men”, but not much more…)
panel 6 supposed dialog
lockwood:what do u think ur doin
frankie:/thinking/ oh crap im in trouble!
frankie:uh nothing principle lockwood
lockwood:oh rly now?
The principal has his own way of turning heads.
