If by smack some sense into him you mean convince him to go on a suicide mission that endangers all his friends and family, then yes, that’s probably what’s about to happen…
cant they find like, a good hacker to hack jack into someone different (or at least change his appearence) so he can sace Cindy but techniqally not break his deal?
Well, we don’t know if any good hackers exist or where they could be found, Jack is resistant to hacking presumably inlcuding good hacking, the hackers might be able see through his disguise anyway, and technically it would be breaking his deal, he’d just be trying not to get caught breaking his word.
Well now he get to see if he values his and his family’s well being over saving other people. Oh well, his parents didn’t seem too concerned about the situation.
wait, wasn’t the deal mutual? Jack doesn’t mess with hackers, and the hackers don’t mess with jack? This means craig technically broke that deal, putting jack in the right to go after them. right?
That tower is totally inconspicuous.
Gavin has made two separate deals with Jack and MI saying, “Don’t fuck with us, or I’ll kill your loved ones. We’ll leave you alone.” Craig is more AWOL with the hackers than anything since he left Gavin’s without saying anything, so maybe Craig isn’t part of the deal if he gets hurt.
If not, then DEUS EX MACHINA TIME!
Also, the deal was that the hackers wouldn’t mess with Jack if Jack didn’t mess with them. It never mentioned anything about those around Jack or the vengeful, psychotic ex-boyfriends of his friends.
Elsewhere in the world, Max Facepuncher sits upright, reflexively flexing his facepunching arm. When later asked for a statement as to why he socked his barber through a window:
“I dunno. I felt a disturbance. Like a face being punched improperly, or somethin’. Also he cut my fringe too short, so yeah.”
Part of me has to wonder, though, if Gavin still considers Craig a “hacker” since, he did appear to more-or-less go off on his own, presumably off orders (I believe Grin told him not to go, which I feel implies that he’s not supposed to).
Also, Grin – come back, because we need to see which side you end up on!
So… Craig’s TECHNICALLY part of the hackers, although he is abusing his power (Gavin says so on page 165, where he states Frankie’s still a hacker, and Craig’s a friend of Frankie; he also says so on… IDK, too lazy, did not go back).
This won’t be breaking the truce on Jack’s part. It’ll be reacting to a gentleman’s agreement that was broken, if stupidly (why, WHY doesn’t Craig think this through? “Beat me once, shame on you…”)
You know, my personal hope is that Gavin shows up and blows Craigs brains out with one line. Seeing as Craig seams to be breaking a truce Gavin spent quite a bit of time and energy creating (relatively to doing anything else just by thinking about it).

He COULD contact MI to take care of the situation, therefore not actually going after Craig himself and thus keeping his truce with Gavin.
But this is Jack Cannon. He ain’t gonna do that if he can do it himself. He just doesn’t know it yet.
