Panel two and three are some of my favorite pictures of Jack.

It’s like he’s… just like us. Wow.

it’s fun how it always takes the characters in the work of fiction so much longer to figure stuff out than the reader, though in this case Jack really does seem a bit slow:p lol

He rejects your reality and substitutes his own.

it is quite odd that he slow in this realization….yet we’ll need to consider that Jack is not a normal guy. Hell, look at how he interacts in his first day of public school. You could say that his homeschooling set him with a different level of absorbing the outside world and reality. meh

I get the impression his homeschooling was less oriented towards teaching him to absorb information and more about teaching him how not to absorb throwing knives and rattlesnake venom. I dunno, maybe there was some math in there too.

“Jack, it’s like you have some kind of… personal Firewall. Your body is such a stubborn dick, that it refuses acknowledge reality warping around it. You may want to be careful around surprise birthday parties. Your body may reject the alteration in reality, and blink them out of existence.”

Yeah, kinda seems like his lack of acceptance of reality had something to do with his firewall… I wonder… Like, he can’t be hurt if he isn’t afraid of it.

And then Jack had an existential crisis.

@ Rakurai
More like he rejects your substitution and replaces reality XP

I don’t think he’s confused because what the dude is saying is really complicated. I think he’s confused by the whole ‘why the fuck am I hack proof?’ thing.
May 30th, 2010 at 4:14 am
Actually if i’d be jack, i think i still would be confused by the fact that some people just press a few buttons and water turns to wine, like if that would be as simple a thing as picking up a rock.
Getting told that he’s some kind of ‘the one’ (since no one else seems to be having powers like this) just makes it all more complicated.

Jack is reacting that way because of how casually they are talking about “reality altering input” π I take it that subject was not covered in his home-schooling. I sure wish they had that class in my school…
